Wales should be a place where children and young people are treated as valued members of the community. Their voices must be heard and their needs considered in all policy making.

Core Aim 5

Core Aim 5 requires that all children and young people are listened to, treated with respect and have their race and cultural identity recognised.

We have developed this mantra in consultation with children and young people:

"Participation means that it is my right to be involved in making decisions or planning and reviewing any action that might affect me. Having a voice, having a choice."

National Standards

We have adopted the National Standards for Participation and expect all providers of services to children and young people to work towards them.
